Breaking News = Breaking Hearts

Rhode Island State Police Colonel Brendan Doherty resigned today. He has been on the force for 28 years - the last four as the Colonel.

Why did he resign? Because he's a man of impeccable integrity, honor, and principles.

What does that have to do with his resignation? In my opinion, it's because the governor, Lincoln Chafee, has no integrity, no honor, and certainly no guiding principles that are worth spit.

Chafee was elected in November with a mere 36% of the vote - most of that orchestrated by the slimy union hacks who've ruled our state and controlled the despotic democrats for more than 60 years. He's a progressive liberal, rich white guy who suffers from a weak mind, the predictable (but regrettable) "rich-white-guy guilt" complex, and he has an enormous debt to special interests. For example, this "governor" - facing an unprecedented structural state deficit (that means institutional spending outstrip the income and can't be fixed without HUGE revision and courageous decisions) - declared in his inaugural speech that his first two priorities would be (1) rescinding our previous Governor's executive order implementing e-verify for state contractors, and (2) homosexual union. What??

This "governor" has also clearly indicated that he intends to put the brakes on the critical, much needed  education reforms introduced by Education Commissioner Deborah Gist. Teachers unions hate those reforms. Teachers unions were behind the "governor"'s win. In fact, the head of the National Education Association (NEA) was on Chafee's transition team after the election! I am counting the days in great fear until Gist announces her resignation, too - another devastating loss to our state.

Furthermore, this dolt on Smith Hill proposes a brand new tax on all things that are not currently taxed as HIS solution to fix the budget deficit - not one word about C-U-T-S. His idea of improving worker productivity is making sure the workers are "happy," which means to me that he has no intention of making any cuts at all. He's such an abysmal embarrassment in so many ways.

Chafee did rescind the e-verify executive order as his first order of business as governor. In that order, besides maintaining the integrity that state contractors hire only legal residents, another part authorized police to check immigration status of people arrested for crimes. That went out the window, too. Colonel Doherty is was also the RI Commissioner of Public Safety, in charge of implementing this immigration verification of criminals. Colonel Doherty took seriously his duty and responsibility to enforce the laws of our state and our land. Chafee made it clear THAT was to stop.

So how can Doherty - a man of law, of integrity, of honor, of intellect - be expected to tolerate working for a shallow, soulless, pandering, mental midget? He isn't.

And so, here we are, watching one of the best, most respected men in law enforcement step out of the slime to keep himself unsoiled. GOOD FOR HIM!!

Bad for us.

I am researching procedures for recalling elected officials. Want to help me?
